Merits
|
In Torn City, when you reach certain game milestones you will be awarded a merit. These can be found at the top left of the screen, between level and energy. Merits can be spent on TC to help your character gain an advantage in the game. But remember, once you use your merit, you will not get it back. There are three different categories these merits can be used in:
Incremental upgrades
Each time you spend one merit on an Incremental upgrade, the cost will increase by one merit eg. To upgrade the first time, it will cost 1 merit, the second upgrade is 2 merits etc. You can only increase each incremental upgrade 10 times. To increase one to the maximum level, you will need 55 merits in total. A list of these can be found Here.
Non-Incremental upgrades
You can spend as many merits as you like on these. Some of the most commonly used merits are the ones that increase stats.

Buy able Items
You can use your merits here to buy rare items, however it may be cheaper to buy these items on the Item Market, or use the merits on something more useful. If you are extremely low on cash, and feel that buying one of these items and selling it is worth your while (eg to buy a house, weapon, drugs, etc.) it may be the best choice. It is not generally considered to be the best use of your merits, though.
